How to edit IPTV playlist and save it to VLC Player

Postby sjn60 » 21 May 2021 14:57

I recently subscribed to an IPTV service to use with VLC Player on my MacBook Pro while traveling this coming Summer in Europe. I got a long URL, which includes a username and password, and some other setup instructions for an android box from the provider. Now the problem is that it takes a while to load the channels list since it contains over 4,000 when I only need just about 30 of them. Is there any way to edit the channels list? That's the reason why I subscribed to EPIC EPG for IPTV :( , but maybe I made a mistake...

Another issue is how to download the M3U file. As I said I get a long hyperlinked URL that starts with http://m3u5fZYP and ends with /=mpegts. If I click on it and open with VLC Player it loads the 4,000+ channels (after a while), and I have to do the same every time since I don't seem to be able to save it on VLC as a playlist.

Please help. I am quite inexperienced with these things. Thankx!

use text editor
:!: If you want your problem to be solved :
* First read troubleshooting guide VSG:Main
* Always provide verbose LOGS ! (command line or from gui)
* Always check your issue against a developer build from Nightly Build of VLC
* Tell us when your problem is solved !
