The Blu-Ray discs were directly copied and decrypted to an external hard drive with MakeMKV and packaged into an ISO with ImgBurn (with a PC). All ISO files play correctly.
However, this warning is persistent across all attempts to play the files on my Mac mini:
A quick check using VLC on Windows show no problems with the files themselves, it's just a lack of Java support on M1 to display menus. I've already attempted to install Java from Oracle Version 8 Update 291 for MacOS and assume that Rosetta 2 can successfully translate the code. However, VLC still does not recognize the installation. Has anyone found a work-around, or is there nothing to do except to wait around for Oracle to update their code for Apple Silicon?Java required
This Blu-ray disc requires Java for menus support.Java was not found on your system.
The disc will be played without menus.
This is the only issue holding me back from switching to Apple Silicon, and it's such a minor yet major issue at the same time.
