How to keep the current playback speed displayed

Postby HSstudent » 16 May 2021 14:39

Hi.
I am using VLC media player to play back videos in slow motion for my biology project.
Is there any way to keep the current speed (0.25x etc.) displayed while I am playing the video?
I have to measure precise time so I use my stop watch to measure the playback time and divide it later by, say, 4 if it was 0.25x, to get the real time.
The problem is that sometimes the player does not seem to respond immediately to my +/- key stroke, and I am not sure what speed I am/was playing.
I tried searching the forum for similar questions but had a way too many matches so I had to give up.
Thank you very much for any help.

On screen ? Not that I know.
The only way is to show the speed value in the status bar.
