Playing a folder randomly changes SOME file names

So when I play a folder off my Android phones SD card -- as in, I press and hold said folder until the PLAY button appears up top, that I then press -- some of my self-created MP3s have new random names, like either map coordinates or some obscure classical piece of music. It doesn't make sense.

This isn't metadata. I've created the files myself in Vegas Pro 18. Plus I've checked to ensure there's no ID3 or any tags of any sort embedded in the file.

If I play the files individually, everything displays correctly. It's only when choosing to play an entire folder.

It might be helpful to know the version of your VLC and your Android. It doesn't fail for me, selecting a folder off microSD on a Samsung J7 running Android 8. Please verify that the filenames aren't really changed but VLC just displays them wrong.

I have similar issue with latest version of VLC for Fire TV and miniDLNA.
When you browse files initially you see titles presented by miniDLNA, but when you play a file and it get's added to VLC database, you see random file name exposed by miniDLNA instead of title.

for example:
Original file is called 'good_media.avi'
miniDLNA finds it and adds with title 'good_media.avi' and exposes it at http://minidlna:8200/MediaItems/1213.avi
from VLC you see 'good_media.avi', no thumbnail.
you play the file, restart VLC
now it shows in VLC as 1213.avi and has a thumbnail.

Good news about the nightly build. Is there anyway to get that on my Sony TV? Version 3.3.4 with the issue is the only version in the Google Play store.
