[Fixed] Missing the Maximize, Minimize, and Close Buttons

Postby skrontle » 24 Feb 2021 18:46

I just installed version 3.0.12 x64 and I noticed that the Maximize, Minimize, and Close buttons that normally appear at the top right corner of the window are not there. They were always there when version 3.0.12 x32 was installed.

The white menu bar across the top of the window is there along with the menu names. How can I get the three icons back?

Thank you for your help!

I removed the VLC folder as described in the 2nd link you provided, and that killed VLC.

Then I tried the following, in order:

1. Reinstalled VLC 3.0.12 x64 = problem still there

2. Uninstalled VLC x64 and installed VLC 3.0.12 x32 = problem still there

3. Uninstalled VLC x32, cleared out the prefs and the cache, and installed VLC 3.0.11 x32 = problem still there

4. Uninstalled VLX 3.0.11, rebooted, and installed VLC 3.0.12 x32 'cause I know that I did have the 3 icons in the past. That fixed the problem. It was then that I noticed I had been missing the entire Title Bar, not just the 3 icons.

5. Finally I uninstalled VLC 3.0.12 x32 and installed VLC 3.0.12 x64 and everything works normally.

I assume that the problem had something to do either with the cache or with the Restart but I don't know what. Prolly the Restart.

THAT'S IT!!
I was wondering what was wrong, and that's exactly what happened. Somewhere, sometime, I accidentally enabled the Fullscreen option. Thanks so much!!
