Can't fast forward/rewind upnp videos

I'm trying to play MP4 videos from my PC on my iPad Mini 4 (latest iOS update) using upnp sharing and the VLC iOS app. They start ok, but when I try to use the playback bar to fast forward or rewind the video, nothing happens as the video keeps playing like I didn't press anything. Also, where the time elapsed is supposed to be, it just has --:--, and if I tap it, the time starts from zero, even if the video started 30 seconds ago or whatever.

Any advice on how this can be fixed? I'll provide more information if needed.

Btw, SMB works fine. And the upnp videos plays for like 15 second then automatically fallback to the beginning of the video.
