We may be able to reproduce this configuration. But, as @tguillem said, next beta will have new logs to understand what is going on if we are not able to reproduce on our own.

Hello, and wish you nice holidays. Any progress on this, or has it gotten stale? I don't wanna rush you, in just curious.

A lot of work has been done on SMB. Do you still get this issue in 3.3.3? https://get.videolan.org/vlc-android/3.3.3/

Okay, so, Good news everyone! :D

I had to enter my credentials twice as I stated before, so It got even this time my hopes low, but after the second time I have entered them, I was not asked to enter them again since! Granted, I've tested this for like 3 minutes, but so far it works A-OK!
Thank you, Aza, or whoever else added/changed/refactored the SMB code, because now it works at least for me!

Yaaay!! Gotta donate to you guys for this ;)

Glad to read it!
@tguillem is the one to thank (or to blame when it doesn't work :D)

There was another post that indicated that you needed to add the network share as a favorite.
I will try to walk you through the process:
Click Local Network.
Click the Network Device.
Click the Network Share and then the 3 dots. Choose add to favorites.
Once you have it added to favorites, click the 3 dots on favorite link and then choose edit
You will be prompted for a Username. Enter it.
Click the link you just created in favorites.
Enter your password for the username you entered earlier.
Choose Remember Password.
Click ok

You should now have the ability to browse that network share without re-entering your username and password. It seems like VLC needs a record created (by adding a location as a favorite) so it has a location to save the username and password... but I could be wrong.

Hope this works for you.
Cheers.

Hi!

Thanks for advice, maybe, that will work for someone with problems still, or when the problem comes back in future update. But as of now, it's been working flawlessly for me for couple of months, and nobody else has mentioned any problems since, so I'd say that this issue is currently solved.
