Apple TV app empty but "storage limit reached"

Absolutely in love with the remote playback feature on Apple TV.
However, I am now unable to upload any movie via the URL provided, receiving every time a "Storage limit reached" message.
This is after I deleted the videos present in the app, and also deleted and reinstalled the app. The app shows only 98mb of storage used in the settings of the Apple TV.
Any idea how to fix this would be MUCH appreciated! The file I tried to upload was large (5gb), but any size file will fail as well.

The same issue happens to me.
I’ve noticed small files up to 1GB are uploaded without any issues while huge ones 5-17 GB which I’ve tried are failing with “Storage limit reached” error.

Please let me know if need any further details or troubleshooting.

We had the same problem on iOS (which essentially uses the same code path). Indeed, this is a calculation problem with files of a certain size. This will be resolved by the next update.

Unfortunately, the problem is back, with getting the same error message after being able to upload files without a problem over a few weeks... It seems like the VLC app was just updated on Apple TV and the problem is back... help?!

I'm having the same issue on iPhone 12 Pro Max (IOS 14.3). I think the current 3.2.13 VLC software for IOS needs to be updated to address this issue again.

Yes, the fix is in 3.3.0 (413).

I was able to upload approx. 20 gb of files on 3.3.0 413 on a tv4k 64gb. Would‘ve expected more since I believe I had more on there before but I have no proof.

I used the TVinfo app to see the free space but before uploading I had 6 gb free now it is 1 gb…so that app doesn‘t help

Same issue. Fails with a 2.82 GB file but not a 1.44 GB file. v3.3.7 on Apple TV 4th gen (A1625) running tvOS 5.4.1

In case thats still an issue for someone:

You can delete a single video from the VLC app on your Apple TV by doing the following:

- Select the video with your remote
- Hold the remote button till the video thumbnail starts to shake
- Press the Play Button on your remote and the app will ask, if you want to delete the file.

After that you should have enough space to upload another vid.

This is still a problem, I have the latest VLC Apple TV app 3.3.12, and TvOS 16.3.3

3 years and they have not been able to solve this problem.
