Install error libdav1d.so.4()(64bit)

Postby Harryl » 27 Nov 2020 21:48

Hi Guys

I just tried to install VLC on Opensuse Tumbleweed and go the following error

'nothing provides libdav1d.so.4()(64bit) needed by vlc-noX-3.0.11.1-6.2.x86_64'

I was the given the following choices;
[ ] do not install vlc-3.0.11.1-6.2.x86_64
[ ] break vlc-noX-3.0.11.1-6.2.x86_64 by ignoring some of its dependencies

Any ideas or help will be appreciated!

You can safely choose to break it if you do not wish to decode AV1. It will become inevitable soon though, and you will either need to update/upgrade your package manager's stuff, or compile dav1d from source.
