VLC audio into OBS has a stutter when playing VLC Media

Hello! I've been scouring the interwebs for days and can't find a solution.

I have Streamlabs OBS and am using VLC Source within to play an .mp3 file. In studio mode, I have it in preview with a .jpg (separate source), but when I go "live" with it, the audio stutters/hiccups at the very beginning. The rest of the file plays fine. If I load the same .mp3 as a Media Source, it plays fine, no problem. I'd use Media Source if I could but it's for a livestream build and I need a playlist, hence I need VLC, and Media Source can only house one media source.

There's another version of OBS I had previously, the more simplified version, and was having the exact same problem in that as well.

If I play the same .mp3 in VLC in the stand-alone app, it plays fine. I have no other audio issues outside of OBS/VLC. The driver (which I've uninstalled and reinstalled) is AMD High Definition Audio Device (10.0.1.16, Driver date 4/1/2020).

I'm wondering if there is a possible connection problem with VLC and OBS. I have the newest version of VLC and SLOBS.
