VLC doesn't display track names for CDs.

Postby nuraman00 » 21 Oct 2020 22:33

Whenever I play a CD, it doesn't display the track names. It just says "Track 1", etc.

How can I get it to display the actual track names, and the album name?

Menu Tools -> Preferences (Show Settings = ALL) -> Input Codecs -> Access Modules -> Audio CD
On the right panel replace "freedb.videolan.org" with "https://www.gnudb.org/index.php"

Thanks. That didn't seem to fix it. I still see the same thing. "Track01.cda", etc.

Any other ideas? Or did I do something wrong? Did that work for you?

Another question. Is it possible to select track 1 and 3 and play those, without playing track 2?

I got the track titles. It shows the track names, and the album front cover art too. Very nice.

Ok, I see, I can just remove what I don't want from the playlist. That will work.
