Why is this happening when opening files?

Postby engineco16 » 22 Oct 2020 00:53

I'm new to using VLC and every media file I open is not showing the aspect it should be. All I see is 1:1 not 16:9. I've checked all the settings and I can't figure it out. Any ideas?

Reset the preferences and try again:

Well that got interesting. it showed 16:9, but at a 45 degree angle. So I went into Geometry and rotated it and it's back to 1:1.

45° ? Or 90° ?

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback, and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com if it's too long.

Also upload your original problematic file to Zippyshare.com (200 MB max) or to WeTransfer.com and then post the link to the file here.

If needed cut it with DGsplit and read here about how to do it:

100 MB max should be enough.
