Don’t show VLC videos in Files app?

Hello.

I think this hasn’t always been like this but currently there’s a folder named VLC in Files app that includes the videos that I have in my VLC media library.

Is there a way to disable this so that my VLC media library files wouldn’t show up in Files app?

iOS 13.3, VLC 3.2.6

Currently there is no way to do it, but we are aware of the privacy implications and will provide a fix in future updates.

Yes, it will be fixed in the next major update of VLC (so not in the bugfix release published today).

We did not publish the aforementioned update yet as we are greatly improving the playback interface which is not finished.

We can already successfully hide the files in VLC from Files.app. However, in Settings.app with iOS 14, they are still visible.

But I can’t find the option to hide VLC files in Files.app. Am I missing something here?

There is no option in current app. I think that issue just says what they could do in the code for a future release. Looks like it hasn't been worked yet either: https://code.videolan.org/videolan/vlc- ... tab-issues

The update hiding files from Files.app is rolling out today. The media will be hidden automatically as soon as you set a passcode for the app.

Hello, I had many video and audio files in the VLC folder in the Files app. The VLC folder is nowhere to be found now... how can I show this folder please or move my videos/audios elsewhere? Thank you

You need to disable the launch code in VLC.
