MP3s interuptions over LAN in Versions 3.xx

Postby hoerni1000 » 25 Sep 2020 10:36

Hi there,

since a few days I recognized that VLC stops playing MP3s over LAN (Diskstation) after a few seconds - then the Cache loads again and the player continues playing the file. Problem occurs on every MP3 (not recognized with WMA, OGG or video files). Other players like Windows Media Player work fine. Also no problems with local MP3 files.

After taking a look at the error messages within VLS it looks like the player buffers a few seconds and after the buffered bytes are played it buffers the next few seconds but to my opinion it should buffer all the way through while playing the song.

I deinstalled/installed VLC already resetting all settings and clearing cache - no improvements. Also setting the network cache to a higher value does not solve the problem (player only paused after a longer time).
Problem does not occour with version 2.23.

Can anyone help me?

Sorry this is not the cause of my problem. Any other ideas?
Problem can be reproduced with other Notebooks. Same problem (with same logentry) was described in this thread.
Debug-log shows error message: "ES_OUT_SET_(GROUP_)PCR is called too late"

Try Nightly Build of VLC first
:!: If you want your problem to be solved :
* First read troubleshooting guide VSG:Main
* Always provide verbose LOGS ! (command line or from gui)
* Always check your issue against a developer build from Nightly Build of VLC
* Tell us when your problem is solved !
