Hello,
I have been searching for three days trying to find some kind of solution to this problem, now I am turning to the experts. I have been using VLC for about a year. My windows 10 PC died. I used VLC on this PC with the audio files place on the C drive. The playlists played all the files without problem. Now I am using a windows 7 PC with VLC installed on the C drive and audio files placed on an extension drive. All my media files are associated to VLC. This is what happens: I place audio file in VLC window, save playlist, remove file from window, open playlist selection window and select the playlist I just created, file loads, then begins to play. No problems. BUT. When I turn off the PC or disconnect the extension drive the file loads but will not play. I uploaded a photo of error message. What the heck is going on? It seems the playlist is not being linked to the file after restarting the PC. The audio files play okay if I drag them into the window but that is not the way the program is supposed to work; I should be able to click on a playlist, file loads, then plays. I am using 3.0.10, downloading the latest version is not going to work since the program is actually working find otherwise. The error message states to "check the log"; okay, where is the log? tried searching for it but could not find it. I was going to upload a photo of the error message but I could not figure out how the "img" button works, below is my attempt at using it. Thank you for any help. Well, since I cannot upload the image, here is what the error states: Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'file:///H:/5th%20DIMENSION/5th%20dimension%20essential%20disc%201.wav'. Check the log for details.
