Stop vlc mounting dvd linux

Postby hollowman » 08 Sep 2020 21:10

I'm using LM xfce 19.3 32-bit.
I don't want VLC as my go-to player tho' VLC is useful in many ways and that's why I installed it (my dvd player of choice is Celluloid).
For some reason, VLC started playing/loading dvds automatically. I had to find a hidden-away setting to partially fix the issue:

However, despite it not auto-playing any longer VLC still[/b ]opens and still automatically mounts the DVD whenever a DVD is loaded.

How do I keep VLC from opening by default for any DVD loading?

There is no feature in VLC to mount DVDs automatically, to begin with.

I can only presume that that's a feature of your desktop environment or OS.
