jumbo control bar

Postby exekutive » 08 Jun 2018 00:27

So when you fullscreen a video, you get control bar with your usual playback buttons, and it auto-hides when you're not using it. I used to have a nice sensibly sized bar, but now for some reason it's huge with jumbo sized buttons. It takes up way too much of the screen. I don't know if it's something I've done in the settings, or if this is some recent update. I've spent a good amount of time in the settings trying to get it right, but I just can't figure it out. Does any know what I'm talking about? :?:

I see the same jumbo sized controls. I wish they were smaller (more like the older version).

But what annoys me very much is that the timing information at the top right and top left of the control bar is now much smaller and I have trouble reading it.

Is there anyway that we can make the timing information bigger?

I'd appreciate if you posted a separate topic with your issue. Don't hijack mine, OK?

You can grab the window at the bottom right corner to resize it. Does it help?

Thanks Felix - I had missed that feature.

It very much helps with the jumbo controls, but I wish there was a way to make the time numbers a bit bigger.

You asked if anyone knew what you were talking about. I was supporting your request for support by saying I had the same concern.

I appended the issue about the size of the timing messages because clearly it is related to the new control panel design.

I appreciate the support, but the the title of the topic does not say "how do I make the text bigger". Please respect my wishes, and don't "append" your own problems.

Now how do I make it remember my setting?

So is this not currently possible? Should I make a feature request?

Speaking of full screen controls. I can't seek by scrolling a mouse wheel on the progress bar anymore. Is it not implemented yet?

This topic is not about mouse wheels. Please start your own topic.

I've had this problem too and it was driving me crazy. I figured that there must be a file somewhere with some cached data in it that causes this bug. After looking around various places where VLC might be storing any persistent state, I found a way to fix this: delete the directory at ~/Library/Saved Application State/org.videolan.vlc.savedState.
