No folder or video thumbnails when vlc is opened. How do i make vlc to show some folders as default view ?

like how its mx player in android. i want to customize vlc so that if i open it it would show folders that are chosen by me. on opening any of those folder it shows videos thumbnails like how youtube home page is. so i can see thumbnails and browse videos which are in folder.
