Focus stealing on playlist progression while in fullscreen

Postby Berlioz » 27 Aug 2020 13:10

Apparently an old bug from ten years ago cropped up again, VLC steals focus at playlist progression when there is another program in fullscreen mode.
In my case I was listening to some mp3s in vlc while having dosbox in fullscreen. At every new song vlc would steal the focus.
I set the "raise interface" option to "never", but that didn't change anything. Any ideas how to circumvent the issue?

(OS: Kubuntu 20.04, VLC version 3.0.9.2)

Edit: It only seems to trigger with certain media files, both audio and video. I have not been able to ascertain what those files have in common.

I've a similar issue: chagesettings depend on file-extension

Hi Berlioz,

I do not know any solution at all.

In my vlc I watch that:
In a video-playlist with different file-extensions like mpg, avi, mp4 and so on
the settings 'crop' or 'site-relation'
(that I changed during playing)
continiouse or breakes
with beginning the new song
depend on the file-extension.

As far as I remember
avis continue the settings
and mp4s not.

Frank
