The Login page is very slow for me, too.
Are you saying you cannot register on forum with your email address and then register an account on trac with the same email address because that contradicts the error message. You realise Trac registration reports already registered under that email address AND PREVENTS you re-creating your account with that email address, so that is what people are complaining about. Every other system I have encountered requires JUST email to do a password reset. Knowing username + email for reset is just bad idea especially if you do not provide any contact to help people and it does not work. You need to create a NEW account for the Trac.
Your forum account will NOT work on the Trac.
Some more context since this post was moved here:Hi,
I cannot login to my trac account:
- I still have my "Trac email verification for user: bers", which was sent to bers@somedomain.com
- Logging in with my saved password fails ("Invalid username or password")
- Resetting the password for bers with bers@somedomain.com fails ("Warning: Email and username must match a known account.")
- Registering a new account with bers@somedomain.com fails (Warning: The email address specified is already in use. Please specify a different one.")
What can I do? I have a video file that crashes reproducibly, and I would like to report that as a bug.
Trac is broken, even developers get their password unrecronized if they try to login once from a different laptop.Since this problem has existed for almost half a year now, and been seen by at least 8 different users, I wonder if
1. this a general problem that tells us VLC trac is not actively used any longer, or
2. this is an individual problem that is resolved on a case-by-case basis.
@yarda, @metal450, @da2424, @AdamKlob, @fkbreitl, @sgparry, @SkipR, has your issue been resolved at point?
There's no .com for that account.Hi,

Your account address is on ???????@hotmail.com here. Same for trac ?I have same problem. I am sure that both username and email address are valid because they have been entered in lastpass password manager many years ago. Given others have reported this issue, does anyone have more information - was there a data breach or was it related to using yahoo open id (perhaps it used to be login option for trac)?
Trying to login I get: "Invalid username or password"
Trying to reset password message: "Email and username must match a known account"
Someone must be able to do a password reset given a correct email address. The login page is really slow as well (over 30 seconds to load). No I am not using my forum user/password trying to login to trac.videolan.org. I am sure it matches and given others have reported this issue. Please tell me who I can contact to fix this.
Good to know, thanks!Trac is broken, even developers get their password unrecronized if they try to login once from a different laptop.
I see. That is not working, however, even with correct user name and email. The only way to unlock is to request password change through "lost password".
Yes, it is. I over-eagerly replaced "???.net" by "somedomain.com".is user "bers" email "bers@???.net" same for trac ?
No, it still doesn't work for me.@yarda, @metal450, @da2424, @AdamKlob, @fkbreitl, @sgparry, @SkipR, has your issue been resolved at point?
