Cast to DLNA TV

Postby cndesu » 20 Jul 2020 04:22

Hi,

I am trying to cast the movie playing on VLC on iPhone to DLNA enabled overhead TV screen in my car. I could not find any option in VLC on iPhone. Am I missing anything? I selected VLC because it can play most of the movie formats.

Thanks for help in advance.

Thanks

VLC cannot cast to DLNA/UPnP TVs yet. This will come in a future release.

What is the brand and model number of the overhead TV device?
This in GMC Yukon XL Denali car. The software displays the car’s Intellilink as the logo. I do not know exactly the manufacturer.

You will need a wifi network in the car for DLNA or Air Play.

Alternatively you could wire up a Apple TV to 12V DC and connect the HDMI to the AV input of the TV via adapters.

Wiring up to 12V DC is relatively easy and cheap as you can solder the wires to the internal board of the Apple TV.
