Hi,
I have various MP4s and M4Vs saved to my ipad that I have created from a DVD ripper program so that I can watch them when there is no network connectivity. When I uploaded it to ipad and made it available to VLC a long while back, everything worked nicely. After many upgrades later of iOS and VLC (automatically done by the ipad), VLC no longer is able to render the video but it can play audio only. This affects all the videos in my VLC video library. All the videos are locally stored on my ipad. Unfortunately, I don't know which version of VLC this breakage initially occurred. Here are some other interesting symptoms: When I try to delete the video from the video tab, VLC hangs forever and I have to force quit the app. When I open the file with another media player, the video plays correctly. Also, the thumbnail image of the media updates/changes every time I play the video in VLC even though video is not rendered.
I used "Files" app to move the MP4 or M4V file to a different location to see if VLC would play it correctly. I also tried to remove and add the video back in. Neither of these actions seem to fix the issue.
I also tried to disable using hardware as an accelerator. That too did not work.
Any ideas what is going on?
Thanks!
