Open Capture Device w/out Device Properties

Postby Scott JHU-ECE » 23 Jan 2006 22:38

Previously, I had only used webcams as directshow capture devices. Everything worked just fine.

Now, I'm using an Composite A/V to USB box that works quite nicely, with one small caveat. If I don't have 'Device Properties' checked off under 'Advanced Options' in the Open Capture Device menu, the system crashes and my computer reboots. Actually, doesn't even necessarily crash, it just merrily reboots as if I had pressed the restart button.

Any idea why this would happen? I can press 'Cancel' for all but the video settings window that pops up (i.e. the one in which you specify the color space, output size, etc.). If I don't click on 'OK' in this window, the system will restart.

This seems to have been fixed in the latest nightly build, however. Am I to presume it was a bug, or was there a reason it does this in 0.8.4a?

I guess that you can presume that this is a bug which was fixed after 0.8.4a was released.
