4.0 Video UPSIDE DOWN.... 26/June/2020

Im on Mac OS X Big Sur 11.0 Beta (20A4299v) and the latest version of the VLC 4.0 Nightly.

Doesn't play videos from rar or other container files. Have to extract the video.

All my videos are playing upside down also.

I rolled back to the 17th or 18th. Still has the container issue. But video lays properly.

I tried to rotate in Preferences, video, filters, rotate . Plus some other thin gs to no avail.
I've also removed all the remnants of VLC and uninstalled and reinstalled. Same thing.

Tried the latest version of the 4.0 release. -> 20200626-0505/ - 26-Jun-2020 05:05

Had to roll back to the version 4.0 release -> 20200617-0442/ - 17-Jun-2020 04:42

If I go farther back, I can use container files again/ rar

The rotation bug is caused by recent changes to the chroma conversion filters. It is not related to the operating system version.

I wasn't able to play video files from inside RAR files. I have to extract them first. In previous releases, it would play when I just clicked on the RAR file.

June 29th doesn't play any video files for me at all.

Does the crash happen when playing a random file or are you explicitly trying to open BluRay media (regardless of .iso or actual disk)?

I tried 7 different files and it crashes at any random file. .mkv, .avi and .rar

Now, they all play fine on much older versions. The only usable one I have currently is June 16th. That one doesn't play .rar

FYI _ this version is working for me.,. I'll try some other media and .rar's later vlc/nightly-macos/20200703-0441/

Nevermind. It worked for one video, then not for anything else. Maybe a codec issue?

July 6th is the same again for me.

Is there a cleaner script or something I can type in terminal to maybe remove all traces of VLC an d try clean installing?

I deleted the ml, reinstalled and relaunched. No joy. Are there terminal commands or files I need to delete?

Anything I need to do. Let me know.
