Silent gap at start of audio playback?

Postby arothmanmusic » 20 May 2020 21:20

I've got a playlist of short audio clips... ten seconds or less. I'm experiencing an issue where I double-click a track and it will sometimes play just a tiny blip of audio, then go totally silent for a second, and then come back on again to finish the track. The same audio file will play perfectly one time, and then play with a one-second gap the next. The gap is always right at the beginning and then the sound suddenly pops back on a second or so later. Any guesses?

VLC 3.0.10 on High Sierra 10.13.6. I have a Mid-2010 iMac with 8 GB of RAM and an internal SSD.

Sounds like it could be related to the other Audio issues some users are currently experiencing

Ah, ok. Thanks! In the meantime, it seems like I have another app on my machine that'll do what I need for this purpose.
