VLC player and WEBM format files

Postby ILOVEVLCPLAYER » 28 Apr 2020 08:31

Please forgive me for this first time posting as I have joined this forum only roughly an hour ago.
Right My challenge is this. Let me phrase it rather as a question.

Why can I not play videos obtained off YouTube that are in WEBM format? I can play any other format videos from YouTube but not the WEBM ones. Please inform me if VLC can play them and how I can either download something to add to my player program or how to adjust the player version I have to enable it to play WEBM files. My VLC version is 3.0.8 Vetinari.
I have used VLC player for a number of years and is the only one I recommend to friends and people who ask me for the name of the best player available. So, I am looking forward to an answer to my challenge soonest. Be Blessed any and all on this forum.

How did you obtain these videos ?

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback, and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com if it's too long.

Also upload a short sample of an original problematic file to Zippyshare.com (200 MB max) or to WeTransfer.com and then post the link to the file here.

If needed cut it with DGsplit and read here about how to do it:

100 MB max should be enough.
