How to request Network stream with range?

Postby PyroRider » 05 Apr 2020 16:45

Hi, I got a network stream that would normally use the range get to request the video part by aprt, how can I set these byte ranges in vlc? When I enter the entire adress to request from, I don't get audio nor video, converting the file also just ends in a 1KB corrupted file.
Any ideas?
Have a nice day

You can't. VLC sets the range automatically.

If your Stream-URL has no Video- or Audio-Content, then the VLC-Player can't play or convert any Content.

An "Http Live Stream" (HLS) use the Index-File, which is often named as https://.../master.m3u8, .../playlist.m3u8 or .../index.m3u8.

Try to open the Index-File (https://.../master.m3u8) in a webbrowser and open it with a Editor (Example: Notepad).

The Editor listed all available Streams behind the Index-File, which can open in the VLC-Player.

Stream-Example: - http://www.news24.jp/livestream/index.m3u8
