VLC http authentication

Postby bachoo786 » 25 Feb 2020 20:38

Hi I am trying to stream a link on my raspberry pi using the command line.

I am trying the following:

vlc -vvv http://username:password@192.168.xxx.xxx:8080/tv4.nsv

However vlc opens but asks me to enter my username and password. I know the link uses icecast.

Can anyone help me to stream and play the link directly without entering my username and password everytime? Do I have to use sout?

Thank you God bless.

Syntax looks fine, check the logs and/or packet sniffer.
