Size flickering when adjusting brightness on computer

I'm on new a Macbook Pro 16'' i9, with the latest Catalina 10.15.3 and latest VLC 3.0.8 Vetinari (Intel 64bit), and seeing this VERY ANNOYING flicker too! When any video starts playing, and when I change screen brightness.
I also experience that with ou without a connected external tv. With it the problem is more visible, without it the VLC trembles a little less.
But in any case I see hundreds of these in screen:

Same problem MBR Pro 15 2018 Catalina, VLC 3.0.8. It's so annoying.

I have the same problem! MBP 2017 13'. VLC 3.0.8. macOS Catalina 10.15.3.

Whenever I manually change brightness, or when system brightness automatically adjusts, VLC flickers with screen ratios, from normal size, to filling in all the black bars on the side.

This should be fixed in VLC 3.0.9 which will be released soon hopefully.
