VLC can't play my video (other players can)

Postby Aleks_58 » 07 Feb 2020 14:59

Hi!
It's the first time in my practice VLC doesn't play video clearly played by other players.
My client asked me for a non-standard video with dimensions of 8640x1920. He planned to play it with VLC on his PC under Windows. But prepared by me MP4 file (H264), which played well with all my previews, didn't show video in VLC on his PC. I've tested it in VLC on my MAC — the same result. Message window shows me an error: "avcodec error: Invalid frame size 8640x1922 vsz 8640x1920". But info in all other apps shows correctly: 8640x1920. I've tried the same video but packed to MOV (ProRes). The message slightly changes: "avcodec error: Invalid frame size 8640x1920 vsz 8640x1920". All other players play this video without any problem. Can anybody explain this?
Here's extract from the one VLC Debug Log:

Code: Select all

As I see I'm alone in this trouble :( My client used another player eventually. But the riddle remains.
Cheers!
