Can't see subtitles with Chromecast

Good morning. I have a Google Chromecast (excuse me, I have to specify the model) for watching videos with VLC media player from my PC to my TV. When I send a video to the Chromecast, I can't see the subtitles. This happens for mkv files, but also for avi files. There exists any solution? Thank you very much everybody.
