is batch conversion in VLC 3 a real thing?

"Batch convert is supported via the GUI in VLC 3.0.0 If you cannot wait, download a nightly build."

I did that, but I still don't see any way to do a batch conversion. I also scanned all the issues marked as enhancements with a milestone of 3.0.0 on https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/, and I didn't see anything that looked related to batch conversion…

Am I missing it? Or is it just not there yet? Or is the wiki wrong?

It is now 25 July 2019 and I too have the same problem. Many posts mention batch conversion in the UI and there are a number of youtube videos of using the Windows version to batch convert but I am stymied by the macOS version and UI.

I would love to have a more experienced user guide me to the right place in the (macOS) UI. Or save me the time of tracking this down by confirming that the macOS version does _not_ support batch convert.

I agree with the "Batch" conversion issue...never has been available for macOS that I know of or use.
It's been on-going a long time and most instructions appear to be for Windows users.

Many macOS users would like to save disk space by Batch reducing *.mov files *.m4v (mp4) using Batch mode
The most recent version, which I display below, touts Hardware acceleration. That's great, but still no Batch or answers.
I'm new to these forums but I'd like to have as many of us who want this to work to Upgrade the Status, Re: The Importance of the issue.

Converting videos is far more easy with different software. We recommend Handbrake, which uses lots of technology we also use for VLC. Maybe this suits you better.
