changing video names? Seems simple but is proving to be a nightmare

can someone please help me figure out how to change files names?

I've been saving movies from YouTube, twitter, LIVELEAK, ETC and I've been trying to figure out how to change the names?

I've gotten as far as getting into WINDOW > MEDIA INFORMATION > GENERAL > then I change the metadata and when I go to save I get "ERROR WHILE SAVING META" "VLC was unable to save the meta data"

can anyone help me out here? THANKS

For most file formats, this only saves a different name in a playlist file, once you save the playlist.

They are only a small amount of file extenstions (I think mp3 is one of them), which saves new metadata in the actual file.
