3.0.8, no scrolling to skip in fullscreen anymore?

Recently updated to 3.0.8, when not in fullscreen mode I can skip by scrolling by hovering the mouse over the playhead. This used to have the same functionality in fullscreen mode with the pop-up controls but they have changed the design of this and it no longer skips through when I hover/scroll over the playhead in fullscreen. Is there an option somewhere to make it behave like it used to?

This still works. Scroll upwards / downwards gently.

Oh sorry I didn't mention I'm on Mac, scrolling on the playhead doesn't let me skip through when it's fullscreened

if I hold down shift and scroll on the screen it skips through

In fullscreen, indeed scrolling does not work when over the playback position. But it works when scrolling while placing the mouse over any part of the video.

Yes as you say it does work when hovered anywhere over the video but it is very jerky - previously it would scroll through very smoothy - not it skips and jumps (again using a magic mouse on a mac and fingering sideways)
