So can you actually change the new video groups manually?
I don't know why they're absolutely refusing to readd the folder options. Playlists are trash for videos, this isn't an exclusive music player.

They did say they plan to re-add the folder options. They recently re-added automatic grouping, but it's clunky compared to pre 3.2.0. They have been mum when asked why don't they simply release v3.1.9 as "classic VLC"

I've recently ditched VLC and moved to Infuse. Just as good as pre 3.2.0 VLC but you do need to pay to remove ads. I went for the yearly subscription of $9.99 per year. I didn't do the lifetime one because there has been a report of it not applying to subsequent new versions.

Bear in mind my InFuse review is based on using it to play videos on Google Drive and on the ipad itself. I load videos in there via iTunes. I havent checked for other features such as chrome casting.

I am guessing the developers of this app don't actually use it, because why are the users so upset about this and nothing is getting done? I can only think of that excuse, and that is because the developers have no idea why the users are so upset because the developers don't use this app. Or maybe they just don't care. It's just sad what has happened. I know there is definitely somebody out there getting a good laugh at all of us who relied on this software to organize a video library on our ipads.

@jasondesante See the other answers to your posts, like https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=151074&p=497914#p497914

If you're not happy and don't want to contribute in any constructure and respectful way, please downgrade.

How do I download an earlier version of an ios app? I don't think that is even possible to downgrade an app. Why do you say please downgrade but do not provide instructions how to do so? Oh yea because it's impossible!

I really don't appreciate a developer replying with false information. Like if you're going to lie just don't bother replying that would have been better than lying.

I 2nd this poster.

Unidan, you have not provided a way to downgrade this app. Unlike Android, everything must be done through the App Store, which alas offers no downgrade option. Yes we can jailbreak, but that comes with its own set of issues that many of us dont want.

If App Store doesnt provide for downgrade functionality. Simply take version 3.1.9 and upload it to the App Store as VLC Classic. Then people have the choice of downloading your botched up VLC or the one that's always worked and never shouldve been changed.

I don't think it's possible to downgrade on iOS unless you jailbreak it. Atleast I've tried every method.
When do you guys intend to add the folder system back? Or atleast as alternative you could maybe try to release a VLC Classic app, so that people could just use that.

Like many of you, I stumbled upon this page while desperately seeking help, and specifically went through the trouble of registering for an account here just so that I can make my voice heard... developers, please!!! I beg of you, this new version is an absolute train wreck - please bring back the old, beloved one!!!! You have COMPLETELY ruined my video experience!!!! :(
