Sorting Within Playlists

Thank you so much for adding alphanumeric sorting to VLC libraries! You also added alphanumeric sorting to Playlists, which is great. You’ve come this far, now we just need a way to separate our 1000-item libraries into playlists (you’ve removed folders, but that’s ok for me) that are also internally sorted alphanumerically. Having a 700-item playlist sorted randomly is not helpful, I hope you (and by that I mean your open source programmers) can add this final feature!

Wow, just saw “Add indicator inside a playlist for reordering“ as part of iOS VLC 3.2.1, thank you very much! That will make VLC perfect for video file management on my 1TB iPad Pro.

Unfortunately, the new indicator in 3.2.1 is just used to move items around within a playlist. Again, we finally have alphanumeric sorting in the media library, which is great, but we still have random sorting inside playlists. I hope someone can solve this so we can have sorted media throughout VLC.

Is there a way to upvote this post? I completely agree. I had all my songs with a number before the name to organize it that way. That didn’t work so I added the correct track name, then the file name and the title name had to be the same. Nothing worked. Love VLC, really hope they fix this issue. ChatGPT it or something. (:

So are you saying that I can alphanumerically sort the songs inside playlists? I’m using VLC on iPhone and wouldn’t know where to start for that.
Never mind, I saw your other post. It’s annoying.
