Can VLC loop over the last few seconds of a clip?

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

Can VLC loop over the last few seconds of a clip?

Postby ghesling » 26 Aug 2019 08:23

If you've ever watched a TV weather report, you know the weatherman plays a scene, and at the end of the scene the rain or snow continues to fall until the broadcaster advances to the next scene.

I have a similar requirement: At the end of each clip, I don't want it to pause or advance to the next clip; I want it to loop over the last few seconds until the user advances to the next clip. (Ideally, the loop time is selectable.)

I'm trying to avoid a bespoke solution, but I would be fine with developing an extension in VLC, if that's an option. The important thing is it has to be user-friendly and intuitive.

I can create each clip as a separate file in a playlist, and to advance to the next clip I'm looking at using a wireless presentation clicker, such as the Logitech Wireless R400.

Thanks so much!
