iTunes Music Library importer

I want to COPY my iTunes library of personal CDs (which I have uploaded) onto the Media Library capability within VLC.

There is an entry in the Wiki list of sub-modules in Documentation:Modules/playlist for ITML.

How do I use this capability (if indeed it does COPY my iTunes library into VLC)?
Are there other ways to do this?
