rotate video

I have a video that showed up horizontally and I need to rotate it; can this be done in VLC?

Hi, check Tools > effects and filters > video effects > geometry > transform if it's for playback only

thanks. this is kinda strange because when i open it with VLC it automatically rotates correctly but then i am trying to upload it to youtube from that video and it uploads in its original horizontal mode. any help is greatly appreciated.
