did something change in the record feature?

for some time i had 2.2.8, now i have 3.0.7.1
i have win10 64bit

on some files, when i try to crop out what i want from start, it misses some of it
it didnt do that before, or i just noticed it on some files. i am certain that it didnt do it from start.

when i use it to crop mid file, yes there is a delay, i know this. i go back 3 seconds and hit record for this.

i saw on your page this vlmc thing, but it says "Note that VLMC is still under development and therefore not ready for beta testing or production yet."

when will something usable be ready?
can i go back and install 2.2.8? is this even safe?

i got the one with exe on end and it works like before
