Apple TV 4K Search Functionality Not Working (TVOS 12)

I was just wondering whether anyone else has encountered this issue with the latest OS update from Apple. Whilst previously the search function could be accessed easily whilst navigating through a local network drive, it is now the case that the search function cannot be invoked (by scrolling right to the top of the interface). Is this a common issue, or should I reset everything? Thanks

Thanks so much for your response! I am running version 3.0.2 (304) (Based on: 3.0.2 Vetinari). This is on TvOS 12.0.1 (16J380) on a fifth generation ATV (A1842).

same issue here with the latest two apple tv updates.
I can't get to the search field in smb. it used to be accessible by swiping up.

Same here on ATV4 (not 4K), been this way for a couple months. Used to work. The search box appears at the top of the screen, but you try to scroll up to it and it never gets there. Noticed it on my upnp media server, but tried multiple upnp apps and all have the same issue on the aTV (and search works on VLC for iOS with the same servers).

Same here, even with the latest TV OS and VLC. Even tried uninstalling and re-installing VLC to no effect.

I have the same problme ... with the non 4K aTV latest tvOS and VLC for tvOC version 3.0.6 (309) (Based on: 3.0.7 Vetinari).

Same thing here. Every time Apple updates he tvOS, VLC stops working for me. It's gotten to a point where it's feeling better to encode all the mkv files to iTunes and use them there instead. I love VLC, but want it to work. Can't use remote playback either for larger 4K movies as the ATV doesn't have the space (unless my setup is wrong???).

Would love to know when it's working again or if and of you have ideas to make it work.

Is this still not working? Just installed the latest VLC release on an Apple TV 4K (7/2/2020) and can't figure out any way to get up to search box.
