VLC Not playing Video correctly, but video plays fine on other players.

My VLC Media player does not work well with my downloaded video. It only shows pixels with the shades of green and yellow although subtitles and audio seems to work fine. When I tried to Open the file on another player, the video seems to be working fine. Here's the screenshot of VLC , Movies & TV and Windows Media Player . Video Codec is HEVC x265 10bit @1080p. Does anybody know why this happens and how to fix it?

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback, and then paste the full resulting log here or on [url=http://pastebin.com]Pastebin.com[/url] if it's too long.

I can't reproduce the issue, it's playing fine for me with VLC 3.0.6 x64.

What is your OS ? What is your video card ?

Try this:
Tools -> Preferences -> Video
Output = Direct3D11
Tools -> Preferences -> Input/Codecs
Hardware accelerated decoding = D3D11 Video Acceleration

or this:
Tools -> Preferences -> Video
Output = Direct3D9
Tools -> Preferences -> Input/Codecs
Hardware accelerated decoding = DXVA 2.0

And save, exit and restart VLC after changing the settings.

I have Windows 10 64bit, core i3 7th gen, 4GB RAM, 2GB Intel HD Graphics 620 (Display), 4GB AMD Radeon 530 (Render).

My VLC Version is also 3.0.6 Vetinari x64.

I tried the first option, nothing sort of happened, but when i tried the second option, my laptop froze that i had to force shutdown and restart it.

Does the problem had something to do with my system's specs?

Your Radeon video card doesn't support hardware acceleration for HEVC.
And I'm afraid an i3 might be not powerful enough for decoding a 1920*1080 HEVC video in software mode.

But I don't know which one of the video cards is being used because the log is shortened.
As requested, we do need the full log, from the very beginning to the very end.

But I also have other 1920x1080 HEVC videos that's playing fine on my VLC.

Also, the file was playing fine on both Movies&TV app and Windows Media Player. The video can also be edited just fine with video editing software, so i'm afraid my video card is not the case (Unless the VLC itself requires high-spec video card to play video files).

Regarding the full log you requested, I followed your instructions carefully and copied everything onto pastebin. I dont know how to get the full log myself, could you please specify the steps because i'm afraid there's some step that i've missed. Thanks.

This log is truncated again.
You need to set Verbosity to 2, and you must do it BEFORE you start the playback.
Then keep the messages window open and start the playback.

I'm sorry, I found the error on my part.

I've been doing it the wrong way as I am opening the file directly rather than launching the VLC app first. This time, this is the log I got:

Ok, I can reproduce the issue when using an Intel 630 like you.

This is what I got with D3D11:

And using D3D9 just froze my whole computer, I had to force it to shut down.

Yep.. Exactly the same as mine.. So the issue is my graphics card..

By the way, can you give me some notes regarding what part of the video file made it like that - it would really help me avoid downloading file types like that in the future.

Lol, I know it's late but it can be fixed.

go to preference--->video--->Disable Hardware acceleration.
