Sorry if this question is addressed elsewhere, but I lack the terminology to search for it. I have an MKV file with embedded subtitles. I can see them when I open the MKV on my PC (Windows 10) using "Movies and TV" app and clicking on subtitles. They look like HTML (<font color = "white" face = "monospace"...... > </font> )
However there is no subtitle file I can open, and I cannot find a way to play these encoded subtitles in VLC.
Is there a way to activate these in VLC, and (for future reference) can someone direct me to posts that provide the correct nomenclature?
Thanks, Pallama

Actually this is about closed captioning, but when I follow instructions found here https://www.techwalla.com/articles/how- ... g-on-a-vlc I do not see the Subtitles Track option is the Video menu. , nor do I see Teletext in the Subtitles tracks. Any suggestions?
