Can I make Visualizations run on startup

Postby Thomaskaa » 04 Aug 2013 20:49

I would like to be able to make the"scope" visualization start automatically, when VLC player starts, and to make it appear each time a new mp3 is played. There are no keyboard shortcuts or command line option for visualizations either, so you have to enable it through the menus. Will there be shortcuts, and an option to keep it on?

Tools > Preferences > ( Show settings = All ) > Audio \ Visualisations:
> Audio visualisations [Visualizer filter]
Tools > Preferences > ( Show settings = All ) > Audio \ Visualisations \ Visualizer:
> Effects list [scope]
Save changes, restart VLC.

Can I make the "VLC (Direct3D output)"-window stop appearing

Postby Thomaskaa » 06 Aug 2013 21:46

Now, when I run a video file, the Direct3D windows appears on my second screen. Can I still make visualizations run on startup, and stop the window from popping up?

This is normal. Where would you display the visualizations, else?

sorry, forgot to say, that I would like visualizations for audio files, but not when I run video files. Is this possible?

Hi,
I am looking for a way to do this also. I'm using Vlc.DotNet (https://github.com/ZeBobo5/Vlc.DotNet) in a WinForms application and so far haven't found a built in was to do this. So no visualization on video files, or do not create visualization popups ever.
Any suggestions or plans to implement this?
Thanks!
