Hello.
I have tried to record a analog video using a USB capture device with VLC. It works fine, but the recorded video is the same as the one provided by the USB capture device; YUV4:2:2 codec with 720*576 resolution and a AVI encapsulation, so the file has a too large size ( about 70 Giga bytes for one hour). When I want to convert this file into another one with a Mpeg4 or even Mpeg2 video codec and AVI or TS or Ps or ASF encapsulation, using the convert/record command I get only the sound track, even when i d'ont request to display the output file.
On my former computer with Windows XP and a USB capture device allowing to get a lower video definition, i could convert the video into a Mpeg2 file with a PS or ASF encapsulation, provided the video definition was lower than 560*480.
It seems the transcoding function can work slower than the rate the video should be displayed.
Thanks for any advice or solution.
