Subtitles issue on VLC

Postby chipsboy » 10 Jan 2006 13:12

I've tried to play a movie in .mpg format with .srt subtitles on my VLC ver.0.8.4 and it does not work at all. The message I get is "main: option sub-original-fps does not exist" The movie would play but without subtiles. And it seems to be the same problem with any movie with subtitles I'm trying to play. I've been advised to change subtitles encoding to ISO-8859-1 but it didn't help. Can someone give me a clue what to do. Thanks in advance

putting subtitle over .mpg is not supported.
It only works reliable with .avi and other indexed movie file formats.
Don't use PMs for support questions.

Subtitles issue on VLC

Thanks for replying. The thing is that it crashes even when subtiles are played under .avi. Is there a particular format of subs for .avi to be played on VLC because they do work fine under my friend's BS player and he is running windows. Thanks

Subtitle with AVI files not playing

Postby hadi » 18 Jan 2006 21:52

I am palying an AVI file with subtitle but the subtitle won't show up. I am using Mac Mini with Mac OS 10.4. Is there a setting/configuration that I should know about?
Regards,
Hadi
