Audio lagging behind

I don't know if the problem I'm about to post has already been addressed in an earlier post (see here: https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=140975) but I'll post it anyway.
The problem is that since VLC 3.0.4, whenever I try streaming this website https://b-nhkwtvglobal-i.akamaihd.net/h ... _1180.m3u8, there is a slight lag in the audio. It is less than half a second but it is visible and it is, to put it mildly, irritating.
I had hoped that, as stated in the post mentioned above, the problem would be fixed with VLC 4.x but at least in the nightlies to this date (January 9, 2019) it still exists.
Or am I doing something wrong here?

Hi, this is the same issue unfortunately. Yes the clock rewrite has not been merged into the nightlies yet, there's still some work to be done on it before.
