VLC for Fire Stick, browsing to a network computer gets stuck on a loading icon

I installed this onto my fire stick, and I have a computer running windows 10 which has network shares available. I set the shares to be available to everyone, and I disabled the requirement to have a password to access network shares.

When I open VLC on my fire stick and click network, I can see my computer. When I click on it, I get a loading animated image and it stays there indefinitely. I waited an hour and it was still there loading.

There's no other information or prompts.

Any ideas how to diagnose and fix this issue?

I am having the same issue as of last night. I have been sharing content to my firestick constantly for the past few months. Now for some reason it shows the shared folder, but when you select it, it just loads continuously.
