Vlc v3 not playing videos smoothly..

Yesterday I upgraded my vlc media player to version 3.0.1 Vetinari. But now all the videos have started to lag while being played.
Pls help

I fix the problem..I reset my preferences and now everything is working .thank God.

Hi,

VLC version 3.01 is quite old, you might want to take the 3.0.4 for security reason and because a lot of bugfixes have been integrated since then.

Don't hesitate to provide logs when you run into this kind of issue, it helps a lot to understand if we have a bug somewhere or what would be your issue

To help you, we need messages, to completely understand what your problems is.
To fix this, please be sure before you start the playback to:

1. Open: Tools -> Messages.
2. Set Verbosity to 2
3. Start playback to reproduce your issue
4. Save text in a file or copy into clipboard
5. Then paste the full resulting log here between [​code]and[​/code] (or use Pastebin.com if it's too long)

Also don't forget to name your Operating System and provide the VLC media player version.
