VLC 3.1 for Windows 8.1 Store completely broken

I've just updated VLC on Windows 8.1 x64 (no RT) Intel Atom tablet and it doesn't work at all.

1. when you select settings from the charms bar, it crashes
2. when you try to play a music track, it crashes
3. when you select music -> songs list, it crashes (there is no way to select albums again)

Please either fix it or revert back to the previous version in the Store that worked without issues. This one is completely broken. I already tried to uninstall it and install again. There is always following error upon each crash in Event Log:

Waiting for the Store to approve version 3.1.1 with some fixes. In the meantime, please share some logs so I can check if those are new issues (or ones fixed in 3.1.1).

edit: still have not received update. Are windows store for winRT and win professional 8.1 different? also I checked this link https://get.videolan.org/vlc-winrt/, I think my last VLC before v.3.1.0 update is v1.7.

But the new UI is still clunky. For example the audio player panel is too small and aligned to the top right corner of the screen (8" 1920x1200 in portrait mode) so you can hardly touch the buttons or use the tiny volume slider (shorter than one centimeter) on touch screen.

I updated the app, and after playing for couple of hours, I can confirm that v3.1.1 resolve major issues like settings from charm bar and music tab, and in general it is usable. However, there are still some remaining issues:
1. dark/white theme : if I choose white theme, settings, player, and music list from album still black/dark, so we cannot read the text.
2. artist tab in music : if we click the artist, it will show the artist profile only. I, personally, don't really care about artist profile. I think in general, we want to select music based on artist. So, when we click the artist name, it should show music list from the artist. Maybe you need to make it like this: if we click artist photo, it will show profile, and if we click name, it will show album/track list
3. when we choose an album, then click 'add' (to playlist I guess), VLC crash. pin album button does not work.
4. selecting setting button left to volume in video player, VLC crash
5. 2 buttons next to lock in video player, I don't know what buttons are they exactly. Especially selecting the button next to lock, VLC crash
6. if we play video, then click back button on top right, after that, neither music nor video can be played. the app does not crash, but it cannot play anything, so we need to force close it.

Layout (in general minor issues):
1. the seek bar & volume is a big improvement. I hope you can make the circle at least 50% bigger.

Long time not posting. I have use the VLC for win 8.1 normally for streaming music/video. The app is quite usable.. Recently, I got touch and tried VLC for win 10.. and I really feel that it is a different experience.. much more stable and "all" features are just working...

So.. I hope you can fix the problems I mentioned before...
1. we cannot read text in the setting on white theme. the text & background are black
2. to select and play music based on artist. not showing their biography. in VLC win 10, it works as it should be.
3. add album to playlist, pin album does not work
4. setting button on video player makes VLC crash
5. now I know what the buttons are. 1 is to show mini mode, and other is to maximize to full screen. since in win 8.1, we cannot change the player size (it is always full screen), why don't just remove these buttons; instead clicking these buttons make VLC crash?
6. another video crash problem, not yet fixed
7. player screen : in win 10, vlc shows album art with back transparency. in win 8.1, just a plain black background...

Just because you have a tablet doesn't mean you can't install the desktop version of vlc which is currently 3.0.4. See this tutorial if you're not sure how to run the installer.

Uninstall vlc 3.1 first.
